We are aware that an antique hand-painted Chinese fish bowl was not originally intended to hold ice, but that is precisely what we plan to use it for. There is a particular joy in pressing a beautiful old object into cheerful new service, and it will make a wonderful centrepiece when we have people over. We love the thought of the painted fish swimming beneath ice and bottles.
